Powerball results are published here every Wednesday and Saturday within minutes of each draw taking place. The Powerball results comprise five main numbers from the range 1 to 59 and one Powerball number from the range 1 to 35. Winning on any prize tier with the exception of the jackpot and matching the Powerplay number will see your winnings multiplied.

Powerball jackpots start at $40 million but often rollover to create prize pots of substantial proportion. The biggest ever Powerball Lotto jackpot won was in February 2006 when a syndicate of eight players from Nebraska won a staggering $365 million, whilst the biggest amount scooped for a single-ticket holder was on February 11th 2012 when a player from Rhode Island won the jackpot of $336.4 million.

Powerball Draw Information
The Powerball numbers are drawn twice a week on a Wednesday and Saturday night at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. If you are a US resident you can watch them live on television on various network stations depending on which state that you are viewing from. Occasionally, the Powerball Lotto is drawn in a different location but only if it's a special event to celebrate something like the expansion to a new jurisdiction or a new record jackpot for the Powerball game.
In addition to the jackpot, the Powerball lotto also has eight fixed-prize tiers:
- Match 5 - $1 million
- Match 4 plus Powerball - $10,000
- Match 4 - $100
- Match 3 plus Powerball - $100
- Match 3 - $7
- Match 2 plus Powerball - $7
- Match 1 plus Powerball - $4
- Powerball only - $4
Should more than one ticket win the jackpot then the prize amount will be divided equally among the winners however for the lower prize tiers in the Powerball Lotto the winning amounts are guaranteed no matter how many winners there are for each tier.
Winnings in the Powerball lottery are subject tax. The amount of tax payable is dependent on the state in which you are playing from. Players who are lucky enough to win the jackpot can opt to receive their winnings in one of two ways. The first way is to receive a cash lump sum which will be a lower amount than the advertised jackpot and will be subject to federal and state tax laws. The second way to receive the winnings is to take the annuity payment option which allows the player to receive their winnings over a set period of time. The lottery will make 30 payments to the winner which are spread out over 29 years. If players do select this option then the first payment is an immediate cash amount at the point of making a claim as the Powerball Lotto jackpot winner.
Power Play
For an additional fee Powerball players can opt to invest in a special feature called the Power Play. Power Play participants who are lucky enough to win $4 to $10,000 in the lower prize tiers will see their winnings multiplied for matching the Power Play number. For the Match 5 winners who paid the extra to participate in Power Play their winnings will be guaranteed at $2 million with the following prizes for have the Power Play option:
- Match 4 and the Powerball - $40,000
- Match 4 / Match 3 and the Powerball - $200
- Match 3 / Match 2 and the Powerball - $14
- Match 1 and the Powerball / Match the Powerball only - $12
